As soon as i stepped of the train I already loved Venice. It was just so magical! We gathered up our luggage and got onto a Vapereddo, which is a water taxi, and it took us to a stop near our hotel. We were all worried that our hotel was going to be super ghetto like the one in Florence, but to our great surprise it was absolutely gorgeous. Ah i was so excited because all I wanted was clean sheets and a clean bathroom. It was just Julia and I this time which was nice too. The rooms were a little small, but all nicely decorated. Browns and creams. I loved it.
Darrin gave us time to freshen up and then we all headed out. We walked to the Rialto Bridge which is suppossed to have some of the greatest views of Venice, and it definitel did. It was really pretty. We went to dinner after the bridge at this cute little Italian restaurant. I got some lasagne and some Sprite because I wanted something American tasting. But what I did not realize until the check came was that the tiny bottle of Sprite cost me 4 E! I almost died right there. I rationed food from the grocery store the rest of the week. We went back to the hotel and went straight to bed. It was the best night sleep I had had on the trip yet.
