7/14/09 -- BASTILLE DAY!
Happy Bastille Day! Ha I think that's what the French say. Bastille Day in France is like the fourth of July back home. So of course there was a parade in the morning. Julia and I got up at seven to get a good seat at the parade. We went with Nancy and Courtney who are costume designers on the trip with us because no one from our group was awake! The parade didn't start until ten so we sat around and talked. It was so crowded though I could barely move. The parade started at the Arc de Triomphe and then went down the entire Champs e Lysee. There were so many peopled lined up on both sides of the street. The parade finally started and there was some sweet stuff! They had tons of planes and helicopters that flew over the road and then they started the procession of the soldiers. While the soldiers that ride horses ( I don't know what they're called) were waiting for their turn to go, they were parked right in front of us. The horses were massive! It was really fun to see. The parade was just the beginning of a very eventful day.
