This was the day that we transferred from Rome to Florence. We met early and headed for the train station. It was an extremely chaotic experience trying to load all 30 of us and our luggage onto the train. It was so unorganized and we all barely made it on. The train ride was about two hours and I slept most of it, so it went by fast.
We got to Florence and it was so pretty! So much different from Rome. I loved all of the beautiful little buildings. We walked all the way to our hotel, and it was the most ghetto thing I had ever seen. It was a total let down because our hotel in Rome had been so pretty. Our room was easily smaller than mine at home, but we somehow fit 4 of us into the space. It was pretty cramped.
After we got settled we headed out to meet our tour guide to give us a tour of Florence. And oh did she give us a tour of Florence. We walked the entire city and it took about 4 hours. I was dieing. It was cool though because we got to see the whole city. She took us to this one church that Michel Angelo had gone to as a kid to study painting. It had frescoes of St. Paul, and they were very pretty.
Our tour guide also told us the best places to eat and to get Gelatto for a good price. So of course we headed there for dinner.
