So after Notre Dame we hopped onto the metro and headed for the Paris Opera House. Julia and I are getting really good at figuring out the cities transportation systems. We haven't gotten lost once! Which I think is pretty impressive. So of course we got to the Opera House in really good time. Out front there were tanks and army trucks for Bastille Day, and they had a band out front playing French folk tunes. Ha ha it was so fun. We stopped and took pictures in the tanks and the trucks, and then went inside the Opera House. It is the prettiest building I have ever been inside. Huge chandeliers, long marble staircases, the works. My favorite part was the huge hallway that had mirrors on both sides and these beautiful chandeliers hanging from the ceiling from both ends. When I walked into that hallway I was completely awe-struck it was so amazing. The auditorium itself is unbelievable. Red velvet tapestry's and furniture coverings, and the entire ceiling was painted. Ah I can't even explain how unreal it was.
